The Who's "Tommy": UK Tour

On 20th February, Stacey starts rehearsals for a UK Tour of The Who's "Tommy". Below is one of the official press releases for the production.

Based on the iconic 1969 concept album and one of the greatest rock operas of all time, The Who’s Tommy is the multi-award winning rock opera written by Pete Townshend, reborn for a new generation.

Tommy is traumatized into a catatonic state after witnessing the murder of his mother’s lover by his father. Unable to speak, hear or see, Tommy survives an abusive childhood to become a pinball-playing wizard and an international superstar adored by thousands of fans.

Tommy has entertained audiences for more than 40 years with its story of the triumph of the human spirit. With 22 performers and musicians live onstage, its epic score includes Tommy Can You Hear Me, I’m Free, See Me, Feel Me and Pinball Wizard. A one-of-a-kind theatrical event!

TOMMY will feature a creative use of audio description, captioning and British Sign Language interpretation which will enhance the experience for everyone. It is a New Wolsey production, and is the second touring production made in association with Ramps on the Moon – a consortium of theatres across the UK that are committed to driving change in their organisations.
